Astoria shrugged. "I know." Katie had been entirely too trusting, that was true. And really, she enjoyed the insult. Katie might have indadvertedly helped her out but that didn't mean she wasn't angry with her. Maybe she didn't have a concrete reason to be but she was. She was angry that the woman would be stupid enough to agree to that arrangement, that she'd gotten in the way of something that Astoria still didn't know she'd hoped for. "I'm glad she opened her mouth. Thank Merlin she did or I might have never known." The sooner that this little charade ended, the better. She'd been at a real risk of falling for him -- if she hadn't already though she was not going to a admit it -- and the news had come at the right time. At least she could still walk away with some dignity.
"He kissed me first. I think that's a pretty universal sign for availability." Sure she'd never asked him if he was in a relationship but he had hinted plenty of times that he'd had no experience in that department. He purposely misled her. As soon as the glass was filled, Astoria grabbed it and tossed it back. She didn't care that it wasn't a shot or that it was an entire glass of tequila. That she had no lemon or salt to wash it down. She scrunched up her face and gagged at the strength of alcohol. It hadn't been the brightest idea but she didn't regret it. "Refill," she told Daphne after setting her glass down on the counter.
