Astoria felt vindicated at Daphne's reaction. She wasn't wrong. She had a reason to be angry and she wasn't simply being oversensitive. Not telling a woman that you were engaged was low, and though she'd never expected it of Cormac, he was guilty and there was no disputing that. But when Daphne asked who he was, she briefly hesitated. Her sister was much less forgiving and would probably give him a piece of her mind. But what did she care what happened to Cormac? He deserved whatever he had coming to him. "Cormac McLaggen." There. She'd said.
She shook her head. "I'm supposed to go to Paris with him next week. Because he asked if he could come with me." The thought of going anywhere near Cormac, of even seeing him made Astoria feel sick. "He didn't even tell me. I found out from her." She shut her eyes at the memory and took a deep breath. It had taken all her self-control then not to lash out at Katie. "And you know what else she told me? That she's a lesbian. That he proposed to her for Merlin knows what bloody reason." She still couldn't wrap her head around the entire situation. She'd refused to think about it all weekend. The only part she'd really thought about was the fact that he was engaged. "Not only did he not tell me, but he had no real reason to hide it. He's not even in a real relationship." The realization made her feel as if she'd been punched. Somehow she found it more unforgivable that he had lied to her for no reason at all.
