Astoria nodded. It was a delicate topic and she wasn't sure how comfortable she was in discussing it. But Katie had brought it up and it sounded like she needed someone to talk to. "That's how mothers usually are," she replied with a smile, trying to lighten the mood a little. "You want her to be excited. That's a good thing." She looked down at Katie's ring again, examining it. It was pretty, classic. Whoever had picked it out had good taste. Most girls Astoria knew would have flaunted it, told the entire world they were engaged. "Congratulations," she said genuinely, lifting her glass to toast again. "You know, it's normal for the bride to be nervous. As long as you two love each other it will be fine." She wasn't really sure what else to say. Relationships and marriage weren't really Astoria's forte and she wasn't sure she even believed her own words. Marriage had always seemed like the beginning of the end to her.
