Astoria scoffed and then laughed. "But I only said it once. That doesn't count," she teased, still not wanting to give him the satisfaction. "No, you won't," she promised. Cormac would probably win that one but that didn't mean she had to admit it now or make it easy for him. "Good thing we know I'm the one who is always right." She grinned innocently.
Her smile was self-satisfied. She wanted him to be imaging things, to remember them. She wanted him to want her again and again just as she did him. Her fingers slipped under his shirt to caress his skin softly. She knew she was just being cruel now but she really couldn't help herself. Cormac had a way of tempting her in every way possible. She couldn't keep her hands off him for very long, especially now that they'd had sex and she knew how good it could be. Having his hand playing with her hair, so close to her skin, but not actually touching her wasn't helping any. Astoria nodded at his question distractedly. "Really," she replied. Of course, she was more vulnerable than she ever let on but they were just friends, right? He wasn't in the position to break her heart. She ignored the part of her that was disappointed that he didn't want to be. "Never," she said playfully. "Unlike you, Falcy is too sweet."
"Are you admitting that you were cute and adorable and no one wanted to punish you?" she asked with a grin. She really wanted to get him to admit that he'd been cute at least once upon a time. Astoria laughed at his reaction. She knew she wasn't a saint but she certainly liked to play one when she could. "I'm glad you agree," she teased, deciding to ignore the fact that he was teasing as well. "Right, except you have to go first."
Astoria was surprised by his question. It was honestly the last thing she expected and she was a little confused as to why he'd asked. It really didn't seem very relevant. "No, I didn't," she said simply. "France is nice. His wife really wants to go. I think they want a second honeymoon," Astoria added in amusement. She almost felt bad that they couldn't, but that was the life they'd chosen with marriage and kids. Astoria laughed. "Oh right, I'm sure. You're such a great friend," she teased. She knew she had to get used to calling him her friend. But she didn't like it. She hated it. His kiss distracted from her thoughts and she was grateful for it. Her hand cupped his cheek as she reciprocated. When he pulled back she was disappointed but she smiled at his words, strangely excited about their little trip. Especially when he'd just shown her exactly how friendly they would be. "I think I need another example," she whispered with a suggestive smile, wanting him to kiss her again.
