Cormac laughed. "Of course you would. You're glad anytime I say you're right no matter what about," he pointed out with a grin. On level that was uncharacteristically insecure, he wanted there to be other reasons besides just for arguments and her amusement over those arguments that she kept him around. As much as he avoided those thoughts himself, he was sure he'd like hearing that she had the same type of thoughts. It'd make him feel better if he wasn't alone in the thoughts that he were trying to ignore.
He shook his head. "I need all the lucky I can get," he said with a smirk. He thought for a moment. "I was a spoiled kid. Can a spoiled kid be an adorable kid? I guess as a kid I can relinquish the that I might have been cute or adorable. But you didn't know me as a kid." He laughed. "No, you did not, but I was throwing at on the table of what I'm not. Like cute, adorable, sweet, thoughtful… I can go on." He laughed. "I've heard of one guy being called romantic before but it was by his wife, so does it count?" he asked with another laugh. His laughter died and he frowned when she shifted away, looking unhappy. What had he done? He'd been kidding around and really it wasn't like her to not realize when he was teasing rather than being serious. In a way, he'd always thought she'd 'got' that part of him. Immediately, he wanted to pull her closer again, but refrained. He knew better than to try to force her to be close to him. He'd never do that anyway. "You're kind of cruel, aren't you?" he asked, teasing and hoping she got that he was teasing. "Instead of being sympathize and saying how sorry you felt I had to go through that, you say how glad you are you never had to. It's kind of cruel." He smiled then laughed. "Or maybe you just don't know how often I do actually get in trouble. Maybe I just don't brag about it," he said with a grin. He really didn't get in trouble as much as he should with his attitude and mindset, but he still thought got in trouble his fair share. "There is a novel in what you're not saying," he said with a nod, a grin on his face.
Cormac glanced over at the armchair when she indicted, trying to figure how to get to it without moving. In truth, to get it since his wand was still somewhere else, he didn't know how to get up and grab it without moving her. And she seemed rather comfortable herself, pressing against him. After a pause, he scooped her up in his arms and carried her to the armchair where he grabbed it and draped it over his shoulder. Carrying her back to the couch again, he sat back down again, taking a moment to resettle them before he grabbed the covers and draped it over her, only to adjust it to make sure it covered her. "Better?" he asked in a whisper.
