Cormac laughed. "Who would you argue with! Of course. That's exactly why you should keep me around and keep me the same as always," he said with a grin. He was glad she agreed, even if she agreed only by bringing up their tendency to argue. It wasn't just part of how they worked, and he honestly didn't mind it. He liked it. He liked her, despite himself. He didn't want to think about that, so he pushed the thought aside and decided to focus on the moment. The moment was good enough for him for now.
He smiled, relieved she wasn't pressing the issue. There were things his mother didn't need to know and there were things Astoria didn't need to know. Strangely, some of them were one in the same for both women. "I am that damned lucky," he said. He chuckled. "I'm not adorable either, Astoria," he reminded her playfully. "I am not cute, adorable, or sweet. Or romantic. You should stop forgetting that." He was teasing of course. But he wasn't any of those things. It was just the reminding her that was teasing; his tone that was teasing. "And old ladies did pinch my cheeks. It was traumatizing. Not to mention when they left lipstick stains on my cheek, too. I mean, no little boy wants that!" He grinned. He liked her laugh even if she'd made herself laugh at his expense. "I don't think any child really has it best or worst," he said after a moment. "Everyone had plead their cases to each other and no one will win. No one likes admitting stuff like that, but it's okay. Because normally no one cares enough to even plead their cases seriously." He smiled. "Shame is a waste of time. All it does it cause you to second guess yourself. If you want to do something, do it. There's nothing stopping you, but you." He said with grin like he'd just given some wise advice. He laughed. "Well, you sort of came off humble so maybe you need to work on that," he teased.
He looked around when she said she was cold, trying to find something to drape over her. "Are you the type of woman who has some blanket or afghan nearby?" he asked, not seeing one from his limited view. If she was cold, he'd cover her up so she could stay right here on her lap comfortably. He froze slightly when she pressed her lips to skin, making his heart break faster. He wanted to kiss all the sudden, not that there was a time he didn't want to kiss her, but it was more forceful now. Reaching up, he ran his hand through her hair softly, trying to reciprocate without just turning to make out with her again.
