Astoria bit down the words that were about to escape her. She was going to reply with 'women' but thought better of it. "Snitch? I told you, you have an obsession," she said instead, teasing him. "Merlin, that class was a nightmare." She'd been terrible at it mostly because she found a lot of the creatures scary or disgusting. "Celia can be cranky but I love her all the same."
She laughed at his teasing. "I'll choose to believe that you picked them out." She preferred it that way and why ruin her fun? Besides, she already knew that as much as Cormac denied it, he was sweet when he wanted to be. "A guy, huh? It all makes sense now," she replied with a smirk of her own. Astoria didn't think she had to worry about guys, with the way that Cormac had been kissing her. Or looking at her. Just like he was doing then. It made her blush a little even if it was tempting to just drop the flowers and kiss him right then and there. How was it that he reduced her to some silly schoolgirl with a crush so easily?
Astoria was amused by his reaction. It was cute. "I like expensive," she said as she grabbed the bottle of wine. When he suggested opening the bottle, she grinned. "I think that's a brilliant plan." The wine would help her take the edge off, at least. And maybe they wouldn't even make it to dinner. One could only hope. "I'll be right back. Make yourself at home," she told Cormac, nodding towards the living room. She handed him back the bottle for him to hold before heading towards the kitchen. Once the flowers were in a vase she grabbed two glasses of wine and rejoined him. She set the vase down on a side table. The flowers really were beautiful. "Perfect." The sight of them made her smile. Of course, she loved flowers but deep down she knew why she happened to like these just a little bit more, even if she'd never admit it. She turned back to Cormac, glasses in hand. "Will you do the honors?"
