Diane grinned. "When was I never this bossy?" she retorted, jokingly. She waited to make sure he was going to listen to her before she raised her hands, palm out. "Now, stay," she said, like he was a dog but with a playful tone so he wouldn't take offense. She acted like she was afraid he'd move or something would happen. When she was sure, she nodded and turned to head into the kitchen.
