Diane hugged her father warmly, just so glad and relieved to see him. When he broke the hug, she grinned at him. She had missed him and hugging him. But she knew by the time she had to go back to school, she'd be pushing him away and muttering about her friends seeing them hugging. Right now, she hadn't seem him in months and she wanted to take advantage of that.
"Your birthday is the last thing on your mind, but not mine. I have plans!" she declared, already turning to head off the platform. "Just wait for it to become a better birthday. You're so old now, you might start forgetting things. I should make it worth it."
