Malachi wasn't looking forward to the meeting. He knew it was necessary, but it didn't mean it would be pretty. From what he'd heard - and saw from a distance - Evan wasn't a nice guy at all. He doubted the other man would be reasonable and just sign the papers, but they were asking anyway. With how the government was Malachi was sure they'd win if they asked the Ministry to petition without his actual consent, but they were giving him a chance to do the right thing.
He shifted in his seat as he looked at her with a frown. "I can handle him, don't worry," he assured her, meaning it. He wasn't planning on sitting here and letting Evan yell or insult Lavender, but he wasn't going to just go after the man for no reason. He tried to smile. "He can be an asshole as much as he wants, it doesn't anything."
