Teagan grinned. "You're not a pretentious bastard, Sam. Trust me I know plenty of people that the term bastard would apply to more than you," she said, meaning it. But he was right in his own way that she didn't want to be a bastard herself, not that she was also innocent and angelic.
She started to stir the dressing into her salad, stabbing some of the leafs with the end of her fork. She took a bite while she waited for Sam to continue. She smiled with interest as he spoke. She hadn't really been expecting him to be comfortable with telling her such things, but she didn't mind either. "Am I understanding you right? You broke up with this boyfriend of yours because you found out he was a wizard?" she asked, confused. She was more than little disappointed in Sam now if what she thought she heard she had. "I guess you didn't love him or care about him," she muttered under her breath, knowing full well that Sam could still hear her in their close proximity at the counter.
