Maddox smiled at Molly's reply. "Well, if you're happy, we're all happy," he said to her. "And if you need help with the paperwork and I can help, I'll be honored to extend my services in hope that you aren't driven mad."
He glanced back at the boy when she addressed him personally. If he ignored her this time, when she said his name, he'd be a perturbed. He had no real reason to dislike the boy right now, other than what his file said which wasn't all that appearing to Maddox personally, but ignoring Molly and showing her such disrespect would certainly give him a reason. "You just started right? Like two weeks ago?" he asked the boy, looking at him closely. The smile he'd once had when he was addressing Molly had disappeared from his face, leaving something neutral with only mild interest. "You haven't even gotten to the good stuff yet. In a month, talk to us again and you might be changing your story. If you last that long," he added purposely.
He glanced at Molly and then back at the boy. "How's your wife? I mean, Lavender. I heard she had the baby, didn't she?"
