Evan shrugged and shook his head. "I'm sure you do, but it doesn't make it true," he said, his voice a matter of fact. He watched as John took out another cigarette, tempted to pull out his own. But he refrained. Thinking of the old days made him sort of sad. He missed it. There had no other who had gotten as along with and even as close to as John in the day. Sam was his best friend now, but he even felt Sam was keeping his distance right now for some unknown reason.
"Don't see how, but I will honor my end," he said, then he smirked. "Oh, just so you know, no one's touched Teagan and she hasn't been around for a bit. No one has gone looking for her either or were there any plans. She was already free and clear. Now she just has one last mutt to hang around her."
