RP: I've got to be honest I think you know... Date: April 27, 2001 Characters: Mandy and Ben Location: Azkaban Public/Private: Private Summary: Mandy visits Ben. Status: Complete
Mandy knew she should have come and visit Ben sooner. Even after her owl, she still had waited almost two months before she came. Just the idea of going to Azkaban for any reason made her nervous and unhappy. In a way, she belonged here more than Ben did. She'd trained muggleborns. She was part of the Class of the Chrysanthemum. She broke the law almost every day and definitely every day in her thoughts she thought treasonous thoughts.
Being escorted through the dark corridors by the guards, she pulled her cloak tighter around herself. Azkaban was worse than she had imagined. It was dark, cold, and felt lonely. There was just something wrong with the whole atmosphere of the place. Looking around herself, she tried not to show how nervous she was, but somehow, she didn't think the guard would care even if he could tell. The guard was distance and cold himself, walking feet away from her as he led her to the room where Ben would meet with her.
She had no idea what to say to Ben when she saw him. It's not like they were close friends. They were colleagues, co-workers. Former colleagues and co-workers, actually. She'd returned to the sanctuary almost two weeks ago herself, but Ben never would. Zach and her had been forced to clean the pens and fling the dragon dung. She knew why, and she refused to complain as they gave them both the crappy jobs. She hadn't actually worked a dragon since her return. She was sure the other dragon trainers and even the trainees were trying to drive Mandy and Zach out officially, but she was determined to stay. She was determined to see this through and do exactly what she wanted with her life.
When the guard pushed over the door, she glanced behind her then she took a deep breath to steel herself to face this. Face her mistakes. Face Ben. She could do this. She had to do this.
