Lavender tried hard not to flinch when Nicodemus whispered in her ear. He had talked to her before about becoming a succubus. He was playing at her past to get to her. Becoming a demon was not what she had in mind for her afterlife. If she did give him her soul, then she supposed that would be up to him? None of that was going to happen though. He wasn’t going to take anyone's soul or body. They were going to send him straight back to hell where he belonged.
She wrapped her arm around Cormac’s waist, leaning into him and away from Nicodemus. She didn’t want him that close to her. “It’s okay Cormac,” she whispered to him. “It’s a compliment, really,” she said looking up at him with a forced smile. It wasn’t really, but she’d humour the demon for now. “Let’s go into the back room to, figure out the rest,” she suggested to them in a soft voice. She moved to face Cormac and took his hand. “Let’s go,” she said then leaned up to gently kiss him on the lips.
