Cormac shook his head. "Well, if you say so. I'm certainly not saying it," he said with a smile. If he agreed with her, she might take it as an insult of him calling her an idiot or something. He definitely wasn't.
He wasn't sure what to make of her silence, but her smile comforted him. It made him think he hadn't gone too far. He ran his hand through his hair and looked at her with a smile of his own. There was no arrogance in the expression; it was simply an expression of happiness. Happiness to be here or with her? He had no idea. All he knew is that he was happy. Surprisingly happy and comfortable.
