Cormac smiled at Astoria mischievously. "Promise?" he asked, teasingly. He actually doubted that she didn't believe him. Most people - especially those in their part of society - believed they were special without needing anyone to tell them. He was sure raised to believe he was special. He was sure that Astoria was raised the same way, even if she denied or didn't realize it. He grinned at her, amused. "I don't think anyone has ever told me to actually give myself more credit on any occasion. You're a first." She was probably a first for a lot with him, but he wouldn't tell her that. He wasn't even sure of exactly what - besides this - that she was the first for anyway. It just seemed like she probably was. Then again, he could easily be over thinking it all.
Cormac smiled, matching the genuineness that had entered her expression. It was becoming a little easier to read her expressions, at least for the night. He was sure, despite himself, that he was probably coming easier for her to read as well. He hadn't been masking his feelings within his expressions for some time now, and people close to him seemed to pick up on things when he wasn't guarding himself. "Ah, but this, I am assuming, was a good surprise and that might be the first," he pointed out happily. His voice held no argument, merely teasing. "But thank you. As I've said before - and I mean it - you're not boring either." He raised his eyebrows at her laughter, surprised by it. What had he said that was funny? But he wasn't going to argue with her laughter. Instead, he just decided to enjoy it while it lasted. "I shouldn't, really?"
