Cormac was happy when she leaned into his touch. It was the little ways she responded that made him really think she did enjoy his company. She could protest all she wanted - not that she did often anymore - but the subtle things were what gave her away. He wasn't even sure she was trying not to give herself away anymore either. Maybe he just hoped she wasn't. He knew he had a lot of wishful thinking when it came to women and maybe especially Astoria. He wanted her to be different, and he had no idea why still. What was wrong with him? What was so special after her? He blinked at her teasing.
Still with laughter in his eyes, he grinned at her. For some reason, he was amused that she'd toss his words back at him. "Well, what do you know?" he said, teasing right back. "I think that's one more thing that we agree on. Who knew?" He laughed at her addition. "I'll withhold my comment on if it's a close call or not. I need to keep some secrets, right?"
