Astoria closed her eyes again and sighed contentedly. She wanted to savor his touch while she still could. His hand on her back and his fingers in her hair could have put her to sleep if she hadn't been so high strung because of the kiss. She just wanted to be in his arms at that moment. It was a startling thought but she pushed away the feeling of uncertainty that swelled in her chest. It wasn't the proper time.
She buried her face back in his neck and made a sound of agreement in reply. Astoria didn't have anything to add to the conversation. She just wanted to breathe in his scent again, feel his skin, as innocently as she possibly could. Considering the way they were sitting, it should have been uncomfortable but Astoria didn't think so. It was absurd how good he felt against her. She hummed happily as he stroked her hair. She knew that this would probably be the part of the night that she'd remember best. There was a gentleness to Cormac at that moment that she would have never expected. There was definitely restraint. Perhaps she understood him a little better than she'd previously thought.
