Cormac was getting too many ideas with the feeling of her lips and her hands on his shoulder and neck. He wanted her hands elsewhere - everywhere else. The idea of pulling on her his lap crossed his mind again, but he pushed it aside and focused on everything else. She felt so good to him, tasted good, and he could smell her sweet, feminine scent. His free hand dropped to her thigh and rested there. There was no ulterior motive with the placement. He just wanted to touch her, to feel the softness of the fabric beneath his hand as his other hand was buried in her silky hair.
When she let out the little groan of hers, it just pushed him forward, pulling him farther into the kiss. The groan was soft, feminine, and unquestionably sexy. It wasn't expected to come from Astoria, which made it even better. It wasn't just a confirmation that she did enjoy the kiss, enjoy him, but it was also a sign that she was losing herself in the kiss, in him. She had forgotten herself for a moment just like he had. Her hand on his neck kept him in place even when he was tempted to pull back just to smile at her, to look in her eyes. He wanted to see the desire there. He wanted to see the pleasure there.
When she fully pulled back, he let out a deep, shaking breath. His breathing was ragged; his heart was pounding. All he could think of was pulling her back for another kiss, for a longer kiss, and even for more than just a kiss. He doubted that she would oblige him again so soon. He certainly wasn't going to press his good fortunate right now. Taking another deep breath, his hand jumped from her thigh to slide between her back and the back of her chair. He rubbed her back in slow circles, letting Astoria bury her face in his neck. "Merlin, I can't even remember what we were talking about now," he whispered with a shaky laugh as he tried to calm down.
