Astoria was surprised by how gentle Cormac was. Everything between them seemed so charged and so challenging that it caught her off guard. It was nice though. Unexpected. She brought her hand up to his shoulder, her fingers closing around the material of his shirt as she kissed him back slowly, letting him set the pace. Even if he had deepened the kiss there was little risk of Astoria pulling away. She had wanted the kiss just as much as he had.
Her eyes were still closed when he finally pulled himself away. It took a moment for Astoria to open them again and by the time she did Cormac was already looking at her. She smiled at him in return. "Promise?" she asked teasingly, echoing his earlier words. She didn't believe him, not really, but she wouldn't let her doubts ruin the moment. Even though they were in public Astoria did not move back either. Instead she moved her hand from his shoulder to the nape of his neck, pulling him forward a little to kiss him again. It was light and quick and an assurance that it was what she wanted as well.
