Cormac raised his eyebrows playfully at Astoria, feeling challenged. If she was challenging him then he'd have to face it. He hated to lose challenges, but for some reason, it wasn't a big deal to lose to Astoria. Right now, it just felt good to be talking to her. "What can I do to convince you?" he asked, playfully. "Ah, why would I give myself more credit? If I do then it's not a surprise or anything when I succeed my own expectations of myself."
He laughed. "I think you're the only woman I know who doesn't use that as an excuse," he said with a grin. "It's a somewhat obvious and cliched saying for women that I know. One more than you're an exception for."
Astoria's voice going soft was a little surprising. It was subtle sign of something and Cormac couldn't pinpoint what. What did the fact she just whispered that actually mean? Was it suggestive as it sounded or was he just reading too much into it? His eyebrows raised in quiet question and he tilted his head, showing that he was surprised and interested at the same time. "Promise?" he finally replied.
