Cormac smiled, unable to keep the smugness out of it. He was proud of himself for figuring it out. He hadn't been trying to insult her, and in fact, it was more of a compliment to say she valued people while still protecting herself. "Oh, I haven't managed to figure you out completely yet. This is just a little insight and tidbit, not the complete picture," he said with a smile.
"Well, I'm not asking anyone else. I'm just asking myself," he said with a smile, "And I say that you're not childish." He knew families could have interesting opinions on who you were. There was always a fine line between the truth and what people just thought were the truth instead. Sometimes it was hard to figure out for yourself too with everyone's opinions pressing down on you. "And families are sort of amazing like that."
He laughed. "Well, how can a beautiful woman make someone's life a living hell? I should feel lucky that you'd haunt me," he informed her, happily. He liked her confidence in the teasing between them. There was always some underlining confidence and assurance beneath her words that he found alluring. "Well, maybe I have. Actually, I'll admit that I have."
