Cormac thought for a moment. "You won't give your trust to those who don't earn it first, but you'll respect everyone whether they earned it or not at first. It seems a bit... interesting. Not in a bad way. It just shows you value yourself and not wanting to get hurt, I supposed, but you still see the value in everyone until they prove you wrong. Right?" he asked, hoping he'd gotten it at least close.
He could see a little confusion and surprise displayed on her face until she smiled. Well, that was a sign he hadn't crossed some line. Honestly, he had no clue with Astoria where that line was. With Katie and Lavender, there was no line. They hugged him; he hugged them. They pulled each other and dragged each other places with no problem. With Astoria, it was harder to know what she'd take as him displaying too much comfort around her now. He didn't want to inadvertently offend her or invade her space so she was uncomfortable. But why he cared was still unknown to him. "Petty is probably a better world. I don't think childish fits you at all anyway," he added with a smile.
He laughed. "Of course, blame me! It's easier," he said with a grin. "You guess? Well, considering you're talking of haunting me then maybe you should be sure," he teased, not serious. Despite his self-confidence and arrogance, he really didn't think he was amazing enough to haunt. He laughed. "Why does not surprise me?"
