Cormac laughed. "Am I that obvious?" he asked with a grin. He didn't deny that he was spoiled, but it wasn't completely what she probably thought. Everyone always had a weird idea of what being the only child meant. In the life of the pureblood society, the pressure for the "heirs" was incredibly high. He was supposed to be the best, even when he wasn't.
He raised his eyebrows at her expression as if he was silently teasing her for her response and reaction. But he didn't say anything. He grinned. "Well I said of kind funny. And no, it wouldn't be funny to me at the time, but I'm sure I can eventually be an adult enough in say... thirty years to find the humor in it." He shook his head, still amused. "No, really, I won't kill you. Send you a Howler. Never talk to you again... But not kill you. Too much hassle. And I can't imagine explaining that to my parents or friends why I killed a woman over a trip to France."
He laughed. "Whatever you say, Astoria, whatever you say."
