Astoria smiled halfheartedly and let the subject drop. There was no use in dwelling on it any longer. Especially because she didn't want things to turn out badly between them.
"I might like agreeing with you almost as much as I like disagreeing with you," she joked, smiling more freely now. Astoria nodded. "We are doing a good enough job of surviving now."
She grinned at his words, because they were sweet, she appreciated them, and they made her happy despite all of her hesitations. "I... don't know what to say to that," she replied, laughing lightly. "Except thank you. And that maybe I'm lucky too." Astoria shrugged, not that she felt indifferent at all. It was just that she hoped those words were enough.
