Astoria looked away when he frowned. She knew she had issues controlling her emotions, especially when it came to defensiveness and that the tension between them now was her fault. However, she didn't really want to apologize. "And I appreciate that," she replied genuinely when he referred to his friends. "I just meant that most of the people I know and am friends with are from our circle, especially my close friends. But that doesn't mean that I don't interact with anyone else," Astoria explained. She sighed softly and wished the topic hadn't come up in the first place. She'd actually been having a good time. Not that it was bad now, but it had put a damper on things.
Astoria turned back to Cormac and managed to smile at that comment. "Yes, we did. Although the world would be a much better place if people owned up to their errors." Even if she wouldn't at that moment.
"I think you might really just be as lucky as you said you were," she said, grinning as well. He'd told her he had a lot of luck and she was content with that as an explanation for why she was willing to make exceptions for him.
