Astoria nodded in agreement. "I think so too." His admission that he didn't interact with men all that much was definitely interesting "Ladies' man, are you?" she said teasingly, though she wasn't sure how she felt about that idea. It was definitely not a surprise. Astoria wondered what he was thinking when he remained silent. Had she offended him somehow? She didn't think she'd said anything too surprising. "I never said it was right," she replied, shrugging. "But appearances matter a lot in this world and sometimes that means suppressing part of yourself. You've got to play the game if you want to win." Maybe it was wrong, but Astoria wasn't above it. There weren't that many people that she could trust to be herself with and she always thought it a risk to let someone new in, even if she was more willing to do so than other people she knew.
"Placate?" Astoria laughed, finding his choice of word funny. Placating really wasn't an easy thing to do. "I think we're getting closer to armageddon," she replied, smiling.
"That's because half the men in the world are slobs," Astoria said. She laughed again. It wasn't as if her house was always in perfect condition but she managed to keep her messes contained to places her guests wouldn't usually see. Her brother, on the other hand, had no sense of organization. "I think it is," she responded with a nod.
