Astoria couldn't help the laugh that escaped her. She shook her head in disagreement. He was too sure of him, she decided."I think that's just what you'd like to believe," she teased.
"Only because you forced me to," she argued good-naturedly. "I suppose it's a good thing that it's in the past now." Astoria had forgiven him and moved on, but she doubted that she'd forget it. She had a tendency to hold on to negative interactions with people as much as she held on to the positive ones. It was just how Astoria protected herself and when it came to Cormac she felt the need to be cautious because she did like him. "But maybe I just have you fooled and I really am awful," she said with a laugh, teasing again.
"Don't forget I hate surprises," she replied with a grin. "Anyway, how can you be sure I even have a goal?" Astoria asked, eyebrow raised. She wasn't sure that she did, really, besides seeing what he was like. "Right, but just because it wasn't your mother doesn't mean it was you," she said teasingly. Not that she was in any place to judge. Her family had relied on house elves for cleaning as well. "Nannies? Were you such a handful that you needed more than one?" she questioned, laughing lightly. But she was curious too. Her own parents hadn't really used nannies.
