Cormac nodded. "Ah," he said, "I didn't realize. But it makes sense. And forgive me for asking, I wasn't thinking." He smiled, trying not to show any jealousy at the idea of Astoria sleeping with another man, but for some reason, he did. In a strange way. Maybe it was because she seemed so hellbent on not going there with him. Or maybe it was simply because they hadn't slept together and he wanted to.
"Ah, so I earned it? How refreshing," he said with a smirk that vanished at her next words. "Well, at least I can guess you aren't talking to me to see my fail in your eyes." Honestly, he was happy to hear that. In a way being around Astoria was like waiting for some time bomb to explode as to when they would offend each other and start insulting each other. Or at least have one of them think they are being insulting when they don't mean to and react accordingly. It made things interesting, but it also made things a little more uncertain than he was used to.
He snorted. "I don't brag. I can gloat now and then, but never brag," he said teasingly with a smile. "Yet. You haven't thrown your drink in my face yet. Remember, we have dessert to get through."
