Cormac thanked the waiter politely for his drink and gave his order with a pleasant smile before he turned back to Astoria. "It wasn't a failure per say," he said with a smile, "The party went off well, but my mom just didn't appreciate a surprise party. I never knew that about her since she was planning parties and galas and such all my life. Who knew she didn't want a party in her honor that she didn't plan. It wasn't a failure exactly so I can do no wrong. You'll see."
He shook his head with a small laugh. "And it would be easier if women accepted that men never actually will," he retorted with a grin. "It's part of what makes the world interesting."
He smirked. "So you want to prove me wrong about whether you can have my running from the table before my strawberry crepe? That's a pretty tough challenge," he advised, "And actually you saying that makes me actually more challenge to stay seated through dessert no matter what you say or do." He smirked. "At least I'm not the only one at the table who has a high opinion of you."
