His laughter made Astoria smile. "That makes sense. Good surprises and bad surprises, right?" She shook her head at his question. "I don't like being on the receiving end but I do enjoy planning them," she said, smiling still. She realized it was hypocritical, but Astoria preferred knowing things and being in control.
"Well, it probably is true. What is it they say? Behind every great man is a great woman, right?" Astoria replied. She laughed at the thought. It wasn't entirely untrue and it sounded like the friend Cormac spoke of was a good influence on him if he managed to think he was the lucky one and not his friend.
Astoria laughed again. "Oh, you never know, I might send you running for the hills first." If he decided to be offended for no reason, anyway. His next words made her grin. "Well, when you put it that way then I agree that your taste is impeccable," she said teasingly.
