Cormac raised his eyebrows with interest at her words. "May I hear those ideas or is it once something to surprise to me with later?" he asked, smirking. He knew, in a way, what she meant about 'It's just life.'. To be honest, it was just as intriguing as anything else. Getting vague answers from her was rather interesting and exciting in itself. She was a question mark, unsure what was going to pop out of her mouth next. One moment, it's vague and the next, it's not. It was an interesting game that he found himself enjoying playing.
He smiled. "No, even when she's doing stupid things, I'm the one who is lucky to have her as my friend," he said, meaning it. Katie may be being difficult and stubborn with the article outing Wood as both a gay man and someone who was sleeping with a muggle, but he still had faith in her. He hadn't seen the article published yet, so maybe she had come to her senses and decided not to write it after all. The aftermath would be bad for both Katie and Wood, not that he cared of what happened to Wood. The idea that she'd out someone she considered a friend in such a public and thoughtless way was sad to Cormac, making him question the fact she was his confidante. "I'll always stand... just in case you need it," he said with a grin.
He slid into his seat across from her and shrugged. "Manners die hard," he said apologetically. When she inquired about the menu, he smiled. "That's a complicated question. What are you in the mood for? For the appetizers– or hors d’oeuvres - I'd suggest either the gougeres or marinated mushrooms. For the main dish, there's the roasted lemon rosemary chicken or coq au vin, which means rooster in wine. As for dessert, if you choose to stay at this table with me that long, then I'd say the crepe. Any crepe. Strawberry, chocolate mousse, or lemon are all good, but I believe I have already admitted my weakness in strawberry crepes personally." He paused. "I'm going for the grilled bacon wrapped figs for starters, wine-poached salmon with black truffles, and then finish it off with a strawberry crepe."
