Teagan was surprised by his serious tone. She leaned back slightly, raising her eyebrows in silent question. Of course, she knew she shouldn't assume she knew what he wanted, but at the same time, he'd never said or even hinted that he wanted more. Not really. As friends, they'd joked and teased each other, but it was nothing more than friendly banter.
She was silent for a moment, looking at him. "Fine," she said after a second, "Then tell me what you want, John? Because you're right. I shouldn't presume I know a damned thing."
