Teagan was glad he didn't seem to notice her not looking at him. There was something to be said about how unobservant guys can be and at the moment, she was thankful for it. As they lapsed into a silence, she allowed herself to relax against him, her head against his shoulder. She was rarely like this with anyone, let alone some guy she wasn't dating. Let alone some guy she wished she was dating but wasn't. The idea was a little daunting. How long could she go on before she gave herself away? Before she tried to kiss him? Before she just blurted it out to him? Something tightened in her chest at the thought of giving herself away, knowing it'd be the end of their friendship.
Trying to push the thoughts away, she closed her eyes. "This is nice," she whispered, not even aware she said the words aloud.
