Penny had no idea how to respond to that? But blushed a little as she picked away at her salad. "Of course I do still have Eddie. He's great company. Nothing better then a good book and a loyal cat," she shrugged with a small smile.
"Wren comes to visit me every once in a while. He was my mother's owl. I let him go after she died. My father didn't want him at the house anymore. But he still comes around and knocks on my bedroom window after all these years, waiting for me to... have a message to deliver," Penny breathed out the last part.
