Tracey was idly looking around the store, not having anything in particular to buy. Sure, the holidays were coming in a couple of days, but she had already completed most of her Christmas shopping. In fact, she had shopped for more than she was required of in favor of avoiding her mother.
After Lavender walking upon her and Zach at the wedding, Tracey hadn't still found a way to tell her mother that she wasn't exactly engaged any more. She decided to instead absorb herself with work and not being home during the weekends - that involving shopping most of the time.
Maybe if she bought her mother another piece of fine jewelry, she thought admiring the sparkling gold and silver brooch on the display. Maybe that would make the blow less painful for her mother. She sighed. She needed to stop this shopping therapy and actually just tell her mother.
On her way out however, she found herself catching the eye of one Mandy Brocklehurst. She forced herself a neutral look. She needed to be pleasant. She honestly didn't want a repeat of their encounter at the Ministry.
