She almost tripped over a crack on the sidewalk and clung to John until she got most of her balance back. Then she began to walk again, like nothing had happened. It was only a few blocks, shorter than she'd expected, until she was pulling him across the street a crosswalk to her building. It was average, nothing great or run down. Letting go of John and placing one hand on the door, she fished out her keys, opening the bottom door. "We have to go up two flights of stairs," she moaned, clearly regretting the decision now.
