Gellert normally didn't owl Vlad with a proposed meeting like he had. He chose his words carefully, made it more business than casual. It was a difference he always made, but not always easy. As he waited outside the ornate door once he'd knocked, clutching the clippings from various articles - both muggle and wizard - in his hand. He wished he had more to go on, but with the clippings was a file that had some facts the Aurors had thrown together. It was little use, he was sure, but he doubted Vlad would need much of anything to do this. He wouldn't ask if he didn't think Vlad would do it. For him. Asking anyone, especially someone who was not an Auror, to do this was almost committing treason himself. But could he, the Minister of Magic, commit treason, commit a crime when he was the law, the ultimate power everyone followed? Asking for murder was nothing compared to purposely letting a man off for numerous murders and pinning the deaths on someone else.
He shook his head, not caring about the lack of consequences for what he was doing. At least Vlad would know this was one murder he could be as outlandish with as he wanted to be. Their agreement for him to be discreet was off the table if he was asking him, wasn't it?
