RP: Don't You Know? Date: May 20, 2000 - early evening Characters: Remus and Ted (open) Location: Brighid Books Public/Private: Public/Open Summary: Remus contemplates his next move in the rebellion between customers Status: Incomplete
Remus spun his very muggle pen idly around his first knuckle as he contemplated his next step. A book had reached the UK about three weeks ago, one that Grindelwald was very likely to ban as soon as he learned about it. A member had given up the life and left the Class a couple years ago, then felt the need to write about his experiences. Remus was torn on the matter. He wanted the magical community to understand what they were up against here, he wanted people to know there was a rebellion. On the other hand, the last thing he wanted was Grindelwald's attention on the Class in any way. He carried the book, but he only had one copy out on the floor. The rest were in the back, and he doled them out carefully. No few had gone out the back door. As it was, he had decided he wanted to get the word out, and that meant it was time for another anti-propaganda newsletter. Besides, distribution would be a good first mission for Harry to join him in. Risky, of course, but easy enough to cut and run if things went south.
Remus was sitting at the counter of his book store on a stool, occasionally writing or drawing in the reporter notebook in front of him. The words were in a very careful code, lest anyone try and read it, a mixture of French and Irish, written backwards. It would take the smarts to figure out it was written backwards, then fluency in both languages. If anyone but him met those requisites... Remus had yet to met them, so he felt fairly safe. He was ready to help anyone who may need it as well, his passion for books never totally forgotten. This bookstore was a wonderful front... but it was also exactly what he wanted to do.
