Rhia's blue-grays sparkled with an unspoken mischief as she popped the last remaining brownie-bite into her mouth with a satisfied moan. Elvi was just ribbing her, but she couldn't help but feel a tiny pang of guilt as she swallowed. She grinned sheepishly at the empath and then took a swell of her virgin daiquiri. Strawberry. Yum! "I'll give you my last piece of... cheesecake to make up for it?" Red velvet was nice and all. But cheesecake was so much better. Her gaze darted in Ali's direction at her comment about Alex's juicy derriere. "He's cute," she said with a noncommittal shrug of her shoulders. Her attention then on Matrix sitting across the way, a knowing grin turning at the pyrokine's lips.
"He's definitely not hard to look at," Eden admitted, cradling her Irish Coffee close. Letting the warmth sustain her. The alcohol was no doubt lowering her defenses. Otherwise the techie would've been more inclined to ignore the subtle looks she was receiving from her fellow lady friends and colleagues. It was no secret that Alex and herself had shared coffee earlier in the week. But it had only been coffee (and doughnuts). That's it. She wasn't looking for romance or even something casual - at the moment. Her life was just starting to feel normal again. Her lips parted and abruptly closed when Aurora caught her eye. "What? It's not like it's an unpopular opinion." She was grinning now, despite herself. Damn.
"Ooh, he is delectable morsel!" Not unlike the piece of filet mignon perched on the end of her fork. "Thinking about sampling, Ali?" Betsy gave a roguish wink while dipping her fork into a pot of melty, cheesy goodness. Mmm mmm. Being a model meant living on a strict, regimented diet - on most days. It just so happened that today was her cheat day. "Truth or dare sounds like it'd be a laugh," she said in concur with Audrielle. Like Rogue, Betsy wasn't so good at telling scary stories. "Or we could go out? The night's still young." Of course, nothing would be able to top the spread Zap had lain out for them. The blonde telepath could practically feel the food going straight to her hips.
"Is it wrong that I find my own brother-in-law handsome?" Alex was a good-looking man, no matter what his relation to her was. But she didn't exactly voice those thoughts aloud when in Scott's presence. Not that he worried about her straying. They'd been married for nearly ten years and had been together longer than that. Neither of their loyalties were in question. But they were free to look - as long as it didn't go beyond that. Jean made a face at the mention of truth or date and proceeded to give Betsy a look. "Don't you think we'd have an unfair advantage?" She took a sip of her Bloody Mary, smiling around the rim of her glass.
