The subbasement could have been a cold looking place to Meggan if it weren't for those who did their business there. Luckily for her, her favorite of those people was a person she got to see daily. She'd learned quite a lot from Rhia and the others on many subjects, but Brian's lessons held a special place for her. Admittedly, she looked forward to them more than any other. The elevator stopped and as the doors opened, Meggan was greeted by Brian himself.
His smile was as catching as it was beautiful and she couldn't help but grin in response. "Hullo!" she breathed out a laugh. She moved over to give him room to move onto the elevator, her smile still in place.
"Would you mind if we ventured outside today?"
"Oh, that would be lovely! Have you been outside yet? It's wonderful." Meggan's hands clasped together in excitement as she bounced lightly on her feet. They rarely went outside for lessons, so this was definitely a treat. His presence made her feel more grounded than she did a lot of the time. She usually tried to find some reason to touch him, as that strengthened the feeling, but reserved herself during lessons. Her eyes traveled over him and she caught sight of the book he held. "Is that a history book?" she asked curiously, as she lifted her head to look up at Brian. It looked rather small. Usually the ones she had to try to read (or at least look at) from were much larger, and smelled a little musty.
Meggan knew some history, but she had learned that not everything she knew was accurate. Her television time had been cut back quite a bit ever since she'd come to the mansion. She found that it wasn't such a bad thing, though. When they made it outside, her eyes began searching the yard, trying to find a good place to sit. "Do you want to go sit at that tree over there?" she pointed towards an oak tree. "It's got a bench. Or we could go to the tree house?"
