"Oh yeah. It's a whole experience. Not that an apartment isn't an experience. But fraternities really are brotherhoods. Good ones are, anyway, and there are definitely bad ones. Some guys just go in for all the wrong reasons, which I guess can be true for just about anything. But Kappa, it's great. I love my brothers. When you're a pledge though..." Jeremiah let out a laugh at the thought. The conversation was distracting him from a lot, which was nice. Being able to laugh was nice. His head had stopped hurting. "The alphabet is a must. And that's usually one of the first, easiest parts, but some pledges still struggle with it. I remember as pledges, a group of us learned the alphabet by running up the football stadium bleachers, each step being a letter. And if anybody goofed, we all had to stop, do a lap around the field, and then start over. Which...might sound horrible, but it really wasn't. It helped everybody learn it in like...two days. Plus...calf muscles, bro. Those bleachers were no joke."
As Max described his experience from the day before, Jer slowed down slightly. Not quite a falter, but some of his worry started filtering back in. There had been some weird stuff happening this week, but nothing like...that. Doors and buttons not working. Random special magnets all of a sudden. His laughter was gone, as was his smile. Jeremiah cast a glance Max's way, and then he shook his head. "...I really think we should find Cassidy first."
