Jeremiah heard Max. He heard him before, too, when he said the doors and elevator buttons were all on the fritz. But it hadn't made sense then, and it didn't make sense now. Doors had motion sensors in places like this. Jeremiah and Max had literally just run at the motion sensors. They were the definition of motion. Max said it all so easily, with such nonchalance. Jer shook his head. If the sensors were all broken, fine. It could happen, probably, in theory. But how was Max so quick to accept that suddenly, people couldn't hear him?
"Dude...I can hear you. Why can't he?"
He frowned, looking at the man as he added another suitcase to the trolley. "Hey? Hey! You can hear me, right? I'm literally talking right to you." Jer stepped forward, getting closer to the man. "How did they screw the doors up for just our group? Do we need new key cards or something? Do you know anything?"
