He'd been looking everywhere for his family, but hadn't considered what he'd do when he found them. There was an ache in his chest that said this isn't right, but he was trying very hard to consider that maybe things had happened for a reason. He knew his family would be okay without him. He just didn't know if he'd be okay without them.
Max forced a smile and nodded again. "I hadn't seen you. I wasn't sure. I was hoping for dream or hallucination, but.." He looked away, down the hall, before shuffling his toes toward a piece of paper on the floor.
"I don't remember a storm, but that doesn't mean anything, I suppose." He rocked back onto his heels and then forward. "It would be nice if they could hear us. I suppose that's just part of being.. whatever this is."
