log: cassandra cain & bruce wayne
summary. Bored because she hasn't been in training all week, Cassandra Cain breaks into Bruce's hospital room via the air duct. That's his girl.
Cassandra. Cassandra was not one to be known for her patience, so instead of following the original plan of her waiting for Barbara to get her clearance to actually see Bruce Wayne. Cassandra had decided to take it in to her own hands, which understandably was for her to propel herself to the rooftop to Gotham's hospital and come in through the duct work. She slowly made her way through the metal ducts till she could peer in the right grill, staring down at Bruce from the vent above his bed. It was only polite of her to give him a warning before she punched out the grating, "Bruce." then a solid punch followed and the grill fell on to Bruce's lap.
Bruce. Bruce had managed to get the remote from one of the nurses, doing that charming thing Richie brought up. He had heard something crawling around in the air ducts and only briefly looked up before Cassandra announced her presence. The sound of the grill was muffled by landing on him but there was no sound of him complaining. Hopefully the nurses wouldn't come to visit. He looked back up at her. "Cassandra." He paused briefly. "Does Barbara know you're here?" Since he wasn't around to train her as usual, he just assumed Barbara would .... find something to do with her.
Cassandra. "No," Cassandra simply said as she carefully maneuvered herself to get out of the vent with little problems. She was careful to make her landing on the side of Bruce's bed, a bit awkward with one of her hands clutching on to something. Cassandra stiffly held out a single rose to Bruce with a note wrapped around the stem - Get Well - C. The writing was close to a first grader's but it was all Cassandra's doing and she was pretty damn proud of it. "Oracle taking too long. So...I came through roof.."
Bruce. Bruce took the flower, taking the time to read her little note. She was doing better. That meant a lot more than her get well wishes. He trusted that Cassandra wasn't seen on the way in and hopefully it would stay that way. "You may want to secure the door, then. We don't need any unexpected visitors." He held onto the rose for a second longer before he sat up straighter to place it in the vase along with Dinah's flowers. However, unlike those, he wouldn't give this one to the nurses.
Cassandra. Cassandra was headed to secure the door soon as Bruce had said the word. She was careful enough to keep out of sight even with getting the door closed and locked. When Cassandra came back over, she perched herself on the window sill. Mostly as a ready escape if she needed to leave quick, because the nurses are bound to get suspicious sooner or later with Bruce suddenly locking his door. She stared at him carefully, taking in his injury before frowning a little confused "Why still here?" Cassandra knows she's seen Bruce with worse.
Bruce. Bruce had pushed himself to sit up comfortably in his bed, using his free arm. His left arm, still in the sling until further notice, was useless to him right now. "The Board of Directors at Wayne Enterprises want to make sure I don't hurt myself further. It's... business," he explained, making sure to explain it in the simplest way possible without simplifying how he said it. It was complicated, with the company and the recent financial crisis. But he always wanted to talk to Cassandra as an equal. "I should be released tomorrow. We can continue your training then." Since that and bumming around the batcave was probably the one thing he would be able to do for awhile until his arm gets out of the sling.
Cassandra. Business? Cassandra didn't get how Bruce sitting around in a hospital bed was good for business, but she nodded like she understood it anyway. She quirked hint of a smile when he said he was being released soon. She had been trying to train by herself, but it wasn't quite the same even if Bruce did go so slow with the training. At least then she had someone who understood what she needed to accomplish. "...Good." She pauses for a moment before pointing out the window at the skyline, "I...can go back...soon? Yes?"
Bruce. Bruce watched her for a moment as she perched on the window sill. Bruce understood all too well her sentiment to get back out on the streets -- more than just him being stuck here a week. He can only imagine the frustration Cassandra felt relearning things that once came so easily, being kept from the good she could really do. She still had some more training, of course. Most likely more than she would want. But he did not want her to go back on the scene without being prepared like she used to be. His eyes glanced out the window past her before looking back at Cassandra. "Soon. It might seem like a lot of time and work, but it will be sooner than you think," he assured her. There might even be a hint of a smile on one corner of his mouth. "We'll reevaluate the training intensity when we get back."
Cassandra. If there was any word that Cassandra was starting to learn to hate it was soon. It never seemed anyone had a real date to when she could get back to doing anything good with her time. She was starting to consider going out without the cowl, just to do something other than spend her time asleep or down in the Batcave. Of course, it's not something she'd tell Bruce she was thinking of that. "Can..push. For training." His training was considerably child's play in comparison to Cain's anyway. She hasn't had to set any of her own bones yet, so it was possibly the least intense training she has had. "...We talk about that..when you get out." She tried to find the right words. "Need...to heal first. Better soon."
Bruce. Well, Bruce wasn't really looking to be compared to David Cain. He was also unaware of how exactly she was trained before and given her newly developed ability of speech, Bruce was making the best of it the way he knew how. He wasn't looking to break her. He preferred her in one piece. He will take her eagerness into account but he was not about to risk her well-being. "When I get out," he repeated. He looked out the window a second. "You should probably leave soon. The nurses don't leave me alone for long." And they might be concerned that the door was closed and locked.
Cassandra. Cassandra glanced toward the door. She could hear the nurses shuffling by and knew it was best she would have to get out of there soon. Most of her grappling hooks and decel lines were still on the roof, so she figured the best way for her to leave is through the ventilation again. Cassandra was on her feet again and tugged the guest chair close to the bed for her to stand on so she could get back into the vent. Giving Bruce a hint of a grin as she leaped, gripping on to the vent and hoisting herself in to it without a problem. He could hear her as she looked back down at him. "....No more hospitals. Ok?" With that, Cassandra was making her way back through the system. She'll let Bruce deal with the nurses and why his vent grate was busted.
Bruce. Bruce watched her disappear, waiting till she left to say, "Okay." A moment later, the nurse on duty realized his door was locked and let herself in immediately, only to find Bruce grinning at her and the vent above him open. "You caught me. I was trying to make a fast getaway." It was obvious, however, that he wasn't going anywhere.
