Bruce Wayne's invitation had arrived during her trip abroad and she'd come back to her office to find it stuck to her computer with a note from her secretary to tell Talia that she had replied on her behalf, and that she was expected to be there. Apparently it would look good if she was there.
To blend into the social crowd that was reported to be there - and hadn't the newspapers had a field day with the upcoming Wayne Halloween Masquerade? - she'd found herself a suitable dress (simple, black, elegant) and a black lace-and-beaded mask. It wasn't as elaborate as she knew some other costumes would be, but she wasn't that kind of person.
She wasn't among the first to arrive, by design, and blended into the growing crowd with ridiculous ease. There was something to be said for being in charge of a large corporation, even if it was the rival to Gotham's favoured son. Even more so, she found herself enjoying the event as opposed to merely tolerating it. Accepting a drink, she thanked 'Mr. Pennyworth,' and turned her attentions back to the conversation at hand with the Director of Gotham Bank and his wife.
