Who: Dan, Blair, ANYONE Where: Waldorfs' penthouse What: First meeting of the Constance Billard-St.Judes Summer Service Committee
The handful of students that had arrived were clearly in two groups-- the willing and the forced. Also known as the college resume builders, and the troublemakers who were being pressured to attend. Blair Waldorf, pacing around with a clipboard, definitely belonged to the former group. Unusually, Dan found that he and Blair had something in common that afternoon. He was here not because of his dad's pressure or any black marks on his record that joining the committee might erase. No, the college admissions process was no longer that far off on the horizon and Dan was determined to find a place for himself at an Ivy when the time came. High school had little to recommend it. He was determined college would be different. He would have friends, respect, and admiration from the faculty for his writing. If that meant sucking it up and putting a few extracurricular on his transcript, so be it.
He rolled his eyes at the lavish assortment of food laid out on the sidetable around a huge vase of orchids. Only Blair Waldorf would think this over-the-top display was necessary for what was a glorified high school club. So typical, he thought with a shake of his head, reaching for a pear.
