Who: Serena, Dan Where: Grand Central What: Serena's out of sorts, Dan is clumsy.
Serena grabbed her bags as she got off of the Train at Grand Central station. Her blonde hair hung down over her shoulders, and she was not prepared at all for the welcome she would no doubt be receiving from everyone back in New York. She had been away at boarding school all summer, but had rushed home for a reason that was to be kept silent to everyone.
She had been in her room when she got the call that Eric, her little brother, had attempted suicide. She couldn't even fathom the idea. If the matter had not been so deadly serious, and the news hadn't come from her mother, she would have known it was some sick joke. Eric had never seemed like the kind of person to try to take his own life. She tossed the bare necessities into her suitcase and left boarding school. She just knew she had to be there for her little brother.
The whole ride over, Serena could think of nothing other than that she had been selfish to leave. What if this was her fault? What if he had been so lonely that he tried to take his own life? If she had stayed, would things be the same way? The "what if"s and the "if only"s filled her head as the train pulled into the station.
After she got her bags, she began looking around for her mother. For someone. Anyone. Then she remembered that she was back home. Her mother wouldn't be here. She would simply send a car. As she turned around, she felt someone run into her, and she fell over, her bags dropping on the ground with a loud thud
