Re: Chuck and Blair - Escape
Who knew Dan Humphrey was some sort of crazed drug fiend? Blair shook her head as she watched him from across the room, half sorrowful for Serena's terrible taste in men, half secretly pleased that she'd been correct in her low assessment of him. It would have been amusing, imagining how he was going to feel the next day when his entire insane rant was streamed on Gossip Girl, had she not felt a pang when she imagined Serena having to witness his epic meltdown.
She turned back to Chuck once Dan had descended from his makeshift stage, eager to dissect what all this meant for his future at St. Jude's. She dimly registered a strange sound coming from outside, but was too caught up in the latest drama to pay it much heed. Chuck, however, did not have the glow on his face of someone who had just had courtside seats to an enemy's social annihilation. He looked almost disturbed for a beat before suddenly taking her hand in his and pulling her along.
"What?" she asked confused, trying to dig in her heels. "Are you kidding? This is all anyone's going to be talking about all weekend, Bass. I"m not--" Her objections were cut short by a pounding on the sidedoor, it sounded like someone was slamming their entire body against the polished oak. It was followed by another, louder bang. The doorknob remained strangely still, but she could hear that eerie moaning pick up from behind it.
"Okay, what is that?" Blair demanded, her voice sounding unnaturally tight to her own ears.
